This course is designed for those who interact in a paid or voluntary capacity with those who can benefit from making positive behaviour change. The course is designed for those who have completed our Introductory Level Theory and Skills MI course, or who have developed a solid understanding of MI through other previous learning, and are interested in improving their skills. The course is appropriate for counsellors, addiction service workers, social workers, health behaviour change personnel, mental health professionals, doctors, nurses, employment service personnel, criminal justice personnel, community development workers, homelessness services workers or anyone who is intrested in helping people to make positive change in their circumstances or behaviour.

- To teach you how to manage client ambivalence
- To explore a range of skills, exercises and techniques useful for informing and advising in MI
- To develop techniques for avoiding the 'Roadblocks' to change
- To enable you to acquire the skills necessary to avoid the 'Righting Reflex’
- To teach you the Four Core Strategies of Motivational Interviewing
